MEETINGS WITH THE GOVERNMENT

EXCLUSIVE DINNER AND DISCUSSION WITH THE HON, STEVE IRONS MP AND THE HON. ALAN TUDGE MP

IEPA met with the Hon Steve Irons MP, Assistant Minister for Vocational Education, Training and Apprenticeships and the Hon Alan Tudge MP, Minister for Cities, Urban Infrastructure and Population in Melbourne to discuss the Joyce review and Government action following its recommendations.  The Assistant Minister in his response added that there was a strong need for growth in training and apprenticeships in regional areas and announced that the Government has set up a new Expert Advisory Panel to revitalise VET.
 IEPA will continue to pursue a fair regulatory regime on behalf of its members, ensuring the Government’s understanding of the issues faced by our industry.

ROUND TABLE MEETING WITH THE HON. STEVE IRONS MP AND Mr ANDREW LAMING MP

IEPA attended a round table discussion session with the Assistant Minister and Mr Laming, in Queensland. Following issues raised in Parliament by Mr Laming, discussions centered around the issues faced by operators with its Regulator ASQA and implementing the recommendations made in the Joyce review

MEETINGS WITH THE HONOURABLE MINISTER CASH​

In December 2018, meetings were held with Minister Cash in Canberra where we had the opportunity to convey the principal concerns of our Members asking that they be taken into account when formulating policy and taking further action in relation to this most important education sector. The Minister was also able to arrange a meeting for us with ASQA’s Chief Commissioner, Mr Patterson.
